To uphold the standards our stakeholders have come to expect, we strive for excellence in all facets of design assessment and promotion, and pride ourselves on the following checklist of key quality attributes.

Longevity
The Australian International Design Awards has been rewarding design and innovation excellence in Australia for more than 50 years. Few awards programs can lay claim such a long and influential history, both in Australia and internationally.

Credibility
The Australian International Design Awards is independent, transparent and has been associated with Standards Australia, Australia’s peak standards body, for more than 20 years.

Industry Support
The Australian International Design Awards regularly seeks design industry feedback and input on the way it operates, and has gained the strong support and participation from many blue chip designers and manufacturers in Australia and overseas.

Calibre of Judges
Our high calibre local judges are joined by international design experts from some of the world’s leading design organisations including Philips, Motorola, Fisher & Paykel, Samsung, Pentagram, Teague, Frog Design, Smart Design, Tangerine, Industrial Designer’s Society of America (IDSA), GK Design Group and more.

Quality of Assessment Process
Our assessment process has been described by our international judges to be one of the most rigorous in the world. Still one of the few programs to physically test the entries for assessment, we pride ourselves on best practice design benchmarking at a global level.
International Endorsement
The Australian International Design Awards has gained the endorsement of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), a member of the International Design Alliance (IDA).

Cost Competitive
For the price of a one-off advertisement in a trade publication, your company and design will receive ongoing promotion leading to sales and media enquiries in perpetuity. At a minimum, your design is assigned a permanent entry profile on the highly ranked Australian International Design Awards website attracting visitation by more than 300,000 unique visitors per annum.

Mass Media Attention
The Australian International Design Awards actively pursues every opportunity to promote entries to the media by drafting regular media releases, establishing long term media relationships and attracting widespread exposure with some of Australia’s leading publications, TV and radio programs.

Ongoing Promotional Opportunities
Well beyond your entry year into the Australian International Design Awards, you can be sure your company and design are being promoted through local and international trade shows and exhibitions, online and phone enquiries, printed publications and much more.

The Australian International Design Awards continually strives to be one of the leading design endorsement schemes in the world. You can be sure your designs are in safe hands with this credible, trusted and well supported operation.
All entries into the Australian International Design Awards receive a physical assessment according to the Good | Better | Best™ Model.

Applicants entering the Australian International Design Awards are notified of their eligibility with an entry confirmation received shortly after application, and are asked to submit a commercial sample and support material of their entry for a physical assessment by a dedicated panel of leading Australian and international design experts. Judges are asked to review the entries based on a common set of Assessment Criteria as set down for the Accolades available.
No formal presentations are required by the applicant, however should the judges wish to direct questions to the applicant during assessment, questions will be posed by conference call or email.

Applicants are then notified whether they have become a finalist and Accolades are presented at the annual Awards Presentation Ceremony.
