Description
Arras spine brings people together.
Freestanding and autonomous, Arras spine serves as a social convergence domain in the workplace. People gather around to get power and appropriate illumination, share their work on multiple technology devices and communally peruse an array of delightful accessories. Desks, chairs and other furniture elements cluster around as independent elements employed entirely by personal choice of the people working around the spine.
We seek social interaction which is why we come to work and not stay at home to work. Arras spine celebrates this innate human desire.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
Arras Spine houses all the tools and accessories for collaboration in easy reach. Need to group together quickly? Pull up a table, slide across a screen and whiteboard and get moving. The communal channel houses power enabling technology, screens and a toolbar that holds accessories. When you need time for focused work the sliding binder or honeycomb screen provide privacy and signal solo work to others. Because the Spine is freestanding and autonomous it is easy to add or remove desks, tables and tools to suit the needs of the user.
The Arras cable tray features generous provision for at least 160 lay-in CAT cables running the entire length of Arras Spine. Power and data lines are effectively segregated and shielded, and a choice of mounting plates caters for regional or universal power outlets. The generous vertical clearance within the channel also caters for even the largest adaptor. A Ceiling Blade or a Vertical Riser work to distribute power regardless of the source – either from ceiling or from floor.
Control the level of illumination at your desk with Arras Limelight. This intuitive device automatically switches on upon detecting your presence, and cleverly switches off when you leave. Fitted with LED lamps and an energy-saving motion sensor, Arras Limelight consumes 50% less energy than conventional ceiling lights. This can reduce demand for architectural lighting and ongoing energy consumption. Perfectly positioned, Arras Limelight’s lofty height creates a stunning cathedral effect, while effectively illuminating the worksurface below.
Accessories are vital in the workspace. From navigational aids through to reminders and tools for privacy or collaboration Arras Spine houses them all. Screens come in a range of options from homespun textures to laminated glass that can be used for illustrations and reminders. Name tags, whiteboards and pinnable surfaces help to personalise space while planters bring the outside in. Monitor arms can be attached housing all manner of technology and the Arras Binder Bin advances above-desk storage by sliding to become part personal storage – part privacy screen.
Every component in Arras Spine can be easily disassembled for end of life management and no components are chemically bonded. Arras Spine does not use of PVC or any other toxic material, has verifiable recycled content exceeding 50% by weight, and is BIFMA X7.1 certified as a low emission product that meets indoor air quality standards. Designed for durability and ease of churn, Arras carries the comprehensive Herman Miller 12-year, 3-shift warranty.
