Arras
Description
Arras is a bench solution borne out of our increasingly nomadic yet socially connected lifestyle. It enables you to sit anywhere and at any time, decisions informed by your work schedule, available space, the nature of the task, relationships with others and of course, personal preference. Available in a gorgeous palette of colours and finishes it allows infinite expressions for designers to create a visual feast. The design of Arras is guided and informed by Herman Miller's Design for Environment protocol. Five key components underpin Arras: Minimal under-structure, Privacy on demand, Democratic power access, Accessible accessories and User-needs storage solutions.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
The Arras leg structure is recessed ward 500mm along the entire bench length, with pedestals adjustable to any position, providing comfortable leg room for all users. The passion for design and engineering is evident in Arras - it has a floating elegant appearance but delivers unquestionable structural stability.
Arras sideblades provide flexible positioning of side screens for privacy on demand, delivering aesthetic ingenuity within a functional frame. Binders slide away when you wish to communicate with those opposite, or slide back, blocking visual communications and indicating your wish to remain undisturbed.
Arras has generous provision for at least 160 CAT cables. It is equipped with various types of mounting plates, allowing for regional variation in power outlets, including those with the universal plug face. For those working on nomadic schedules, and accustomed to carrying various adaptors to suit a range of environments, the generous vertical clearances within the channel allow the use of almost any adaptor available worldwide.
Arras trays purposefully spill beyond perceived personal boundaries on the bench encouraging group consensus and interaction. Storage is available via the pedestal, the Arrasped. This has been cleverly engineered into separable painted components giving designers the freedom to colour customise with variable colours for the body, back panel, drawer fronts and pulls. With an imaginative and gorgeous palette of 15 new colours and finishes Arras can be personalised to accommodate almost every taste.
Every component in Arras can be easily disassembled for end of life management and no components are chemically bonded. Arras does not use of PVC or any other toxic material, has verifiable recycled content exceeding 50% by weight, and is BIFMA X7.1 certified as a low emission product that meets indoor air quality standards. Rapid renewable materials like bamboo and strawboard worksurfaces as well as FSC certified Greenfirst and EO worksurfaces are all available. Designed for durability and ease of churn, Arras carries the comprehensive Herman Miller 12-year, 3-shift warranty.
