CleanSpace2™ is a unique powered respirator designed by PAFtec. It is a major innovation in personal respiratory protection. A compact and light weight power unit is cushioned around the back of the neck, counter-balancing the soft silicone low profile mask and providing fresh, clean air, on demand as you breathe. CleanSpace2™ incorporates a patented AirSensit Responsive Flow Control System™ that detects the wearer’s breathing and generates the airflow demanded breath-by-breath while maintaining the critical positive pressure environment needed within the mask. Positive pressure within the mask (characteristic of powered respirators) ensures high levels of protection which complies with the stringent European CE Mark standard class TM3 providing a 1,000x protection factor. Uniquely, CleanSpace2™ breath-by-breath flow control creates a pleasant natural breathing experience while extending battery life. This makes it possible to use a small battery, conserving space and weight in the neck mounted Power Unit.
The silicone face mask is soft, low profile, non-allergenic and hygienic and moulds comfortably to the user’s facial features. The arms of mask form a pair of low profile air channels when linking the “bellows” to the Power Unit (back section of the respirator). This is highly innovative (patented) and not seen in any other respirators in the world. The AirClip System is a one-push operation for mask adjustment and a simple donning and doffing procedure: offering a simple and quick operating application for wearers and minimising training time.
At the heart of CleanSpace2™is a unique micro-turbine that incorporates our patented powerful toroidal motor technology. The motor/blower, weighing 55g, is capable of peak airflows in excess of 200 L/min easily able to meet the peak inhalation needs of the wearer. The motor/blower is wrapped in a custom designed rubber suspension system (“hedgehog”) making it robust, highly impact resistant and able to withstand hostile and harsh environments.
By using a unique gas filter adaptor, CleanSpace2™offers gas filtration capability. This sought after feature benefits many workers who have to work in hostile harmful gas environments while still enjoying the mobility and comfort of CleanSpace2™that no other powered respirator currently offers.
The filter blocking alarm built-in with CleanSpace2™ can not only detect the filter blocking during the “Mask-Off” state, it can also detect the filter blockage “On-The-Fly” while wearing it, a feature that is rarely seen in other powered respirators. The Flow Test feature allows the user to determine the airflow generating capacity of the respirator before using it, in a simple way, ensuring the respirator always delivers the minimum flow required for high level protection.
