In an innovative, forward thinking move, it responds to the increasing demand for flexibility and adjustment in multi desking and activity based office situations.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
A key feature that makes the Blade unique is the clever cable management solution. Having built several test rigs to trial cable management, a solution was reached that enables full vertical and rotational adjustment without cables getting caught or being visible in front of the monitor. The injection molded TPU cable strap, with 100% elastic memory, stretches to keep cables under control while still allowing their movement.
Geared towards optimum ergonomic conditions and health and safety standards – and the perfect solution for multi desking environments, the Blade enables users to effortlessly adjust their monitor. It caters for a range of monitor weights, and allows for fingertip vertical adjustment through a range of 170mm, forward and backwards tilt and 360 degrees of rotation. With one touch, the Blade allows fluid and stable movement of any screen attached, redefining the relationship we have with our hardware.
In terms of design aesthetic, it was important that the Blade compliment the rest of the integ system that it would be attached to. This condition drove the overall shape and the concave surface on the main housing. In the perfect pairing of form and function, the rounded ends ensure cables don’t get caught as a screen is rotated. While function and smooth operation were the core design tenets, the Blade’s aesthetics combine to give it a true competitive advantage.
Making it intuitive to use was a top criteria; with the aim being that users know how to use it just by looking at it. Customers and end users were involved throughout the design process to help us understand latent needs and there is honesty about the design; far from hiding the details, users can clearly see how it works. This transparency is in line with integ’s design philosophy. Stringent testing and development led to a product, which operates perfectly, exceeding customers’ expectations.
Made from extruded and powder coated aluminium, with reinforced plastic parts, the Blade is made to last. As part of a modular solution that’s been built to work with a range of interchangeable components, the Blade can easily be adapted to meet the unique needs of any installation, as well as evolving to fit an organisation’s changing technology needs.
