The SL Series Radio is an ultra-thin, ultra-light portable two-way radio that integrates voice and data applications seamlessly. The device has transformed the traditional rugged commercial two-way radio into a small-size form factor with an upscale professional appearance. It weighs 165 g (current two-way radios are bulky and heavy, weighing up to 375 g). It is designed specifically for professional users in the hospitality, services, security and airport industries which require discreet and professional communication. To provide optimum discreet experience it incorporates features such as hands-free, covert mode and the radio’s volume automatically adjusts to compensate for background noise.

Designers and engineers were challenged to replace heavier, bulkier two-way radios with a device that would allow users to maintain an upscale, professional look while still relying on an extremely rugged radio. In addition, the unit needed to be unobtrusive and comfortable to wear all day long. Research showed that this emphasis on style and size is very important to end users who are often in front of customers while using radios to maintain business communications. As a result, the SL Series is an ultra thin, compact and lightweight device equipped with the highest standard of communication performance.
The MOTOTRBO SL Series was designed to meet the end users’ desire for discreet communications. The ultra-thin form factor allows for an unobtrusive solution. We incorporated an intelligent audio function to automatically adjust volume in relation to background noise. A special “covert” mode was designed as an option to allow users to achieve complete discreetness. When paired with the Motorola covert Bluetooth headset, users can expect secure and reliable communication with all day comfort.
