Description
Air New Zealand's SkyCouch is a new seating solution delivering more control, comfort and flexibility to economy passengers when traveling long-haul. The seat is configured from three outboard seats by deploying a redesigned leg-rest that converts three seats into one bed along with disappearing armrests, a multi-configuarble tray table and enhanced seat cushioning. The solution enables one, two or all three leg-rests to be deployed enabling a wide range of seating experiences for travelers.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
There has been no significant innovation in economy/coach air travel since the introduction of the inflight entertainment system over a decade ago. the SkyCouch has broken that paradigm with the introduction of a product that enables a full lie-flat sleep experience on a long-haul flight.
The SkyCouch enables more control over your inflight experience due to the combination of the food-to-seat system allowing passengers to order from their IFE touch-screen food, drinks so they can eat or drink when they want; and the configurability of the seat allowing one or all three leg-rest to be deployed at half or full settings giving the passengers much more control of their physical flight experience
The SkyCouch has been designed to allow couples and families to experience a new kind of inflight experience. From sleeping together, to watching a shared movie, creating a play area, an infant sleep space through to sitting in the standard configuration. This product enables more flexibility for the passenger dependent on the needs they have.
