The interior is elegant, airy and cleanly designed.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
Horizontal design lines give the interior a very broad feel. These lines include, for instance, the wrap-around curve that is already familiar from Audi luxury models such as the A7. It encompasses driver and front passenger, thereby integrating them into the vehicle. Another particularly noteworthy aspect is the departure from the traditional, tower-type centre console design. Only the controls for the air conditioning and heating are located here, making the centre console appear remarkably uncluttered and elegant.
The air vents jet turbine design further accentuate the stylish interior. Their air flow can be adjusted to provide a concentrated stream of air or to distribute air evenly, all with variable levels of intensity.
MMI touch is a touch-sensitive control panel on the rotary/push-button control for intuitive operation of the MMI without drivers taking their eyes off the road; context-related entry of letters and numbers for navigation destination via handwriting recognition with acoustic acknowledgement, selection of address book, entry of telephone numbers or search for media files; simple movement of navigation map and selection of points of interests.
The control panel for the automatic climate controlled air conditioning visually connects the floating cockpit with the centre console. Its black panel look, in conjunction with the air vents in jet turbine design, lend it a sporty and elegant appearance.
Although the vehicle length remains virtually unchanged, the wheelbase of the Audi A3 Sportback is 58 mm longer. As a consequence of this development, the overhangs at the front and rear are shorter, giving the exterior of the vehicles a more dynamic look. In addition, a lower seating position provides noticeably more headroom for every seat. The Audi A3 Sportback provides 22mm more headroom in the front and 17mm at the rear. These measures result in extra room and therefore superior comfort, while giving the vehicle a sportier feel.
