Description
Australia Post iPhone and iPad app (version 2) was released in July 2012. As a major upgrade to the existing application, it reflected Australia Post’s desire to engage seamlessly with their customers and allow mobile self-service. User-centric design was key to the new navigation and interaction, and was the result of comprehensive research and user feedback. We put as much time into the little interactions and touches as the overall design – producing an intuitive experience for all.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
Performing extensive user research in 2012-13, the look and feel was designed to maintain the Australia Post brand aesthetic. Incorporating the frequently-used tools and services that people rely on, it delivers significantly improved responsiveness, user experience and design. Creating a fully native application resulted in a leaner and faster app, and allowed the team to fully re-think the overarching user experience and IA of the app, as well as take advantage of the native phone functions such as the device camera.
Australia Post wanted to introduce innovative features that would take advantage of their expanding range of digital services. This included introducing functions such as: • scanning parcels and bills directly on your device • saving and naming multiple tracked items • saving bill and payment details • converting currency to buy online. We also introduced the ability for Australia Post to remotely configure the app with marketing, offers and general information updates.
