Description
Progressively increasing in size and performance, personal watercraft industry has reached the point of neglecting the needs of new generation of customers. To reverse this trend Design team was given the mandate to develop a eco-friendly product that would cut half the cost as well as fuel consumption while exceeding quality standards. What seemed unachievable was achieved with the BRP's Sea-Doo® Spark.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
To introduce a lightweight material with softer mechanical properties a new pyramidal structure was developed. Exoskel™ is a minimalist architecture that keeps only the essential structural parts in the front section. It reduces the weight while creating a strong, modern and cutting-edge design that defines the unique and playful nature of the Sea-Doo Spark.
To the base product in 2 passenger's configuration an extra buoyancy module with a seat extension can be add for converting in a 3 passenger's configuration.
By challenging the boating paradigm of glossy surface finish a new material could be introduced for the hull and structural parts; the Politec™. This low density fiber reinforced polypropylene material has a textured finish making it rugged for intense usage while for none structural panels, textured finish was also selected for impact resistance. The introduction of these two materials was key factor to the industry first entirely recyclable personal watercraft as well as a breath of color freshness that emotionally connects with the new generation of users.
By introducing a fastened removable center deck rather than a permanently glued to the hull, access to mechanics is now becoming very easy and convenient for maintenance as well as parts replacement. Thus, contributes to simplify the production line for cost efficiency.
A true to Sea-Doo product DNA from its softly facetized surfaces, young inspiring colors and finishes all harmonized in an appealing small package the BRP Sea-Doo Spark provides access to the water to a new generation of customers which could not prior its introduction.
