Description
Dyson Ball barrel has been engineered to follow obediently. Barrel cleaners are often awkward to steer and can topple over, but Dyson has overcome this problem by combining patented Ball technology with a central steering system that uses an articulated chassis and central pivot point to easily circumnavigate sofas. The machine's motor is housed within the ball, keeping the centre of gravity low and making it easier to pull across all floor surfaces and around corners. Dyson Ball barrel is equipped with patented Radial Cyclone technology which doesn't lose suction, so it captures more microscopic dust than any other cyclone.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
Patented Radial Cyclone is the latest cyclone technology from Dyson. Featuring reconfigured air channels and improved flow efficiency to reduce turbulence and preserve air pressure, allowing the inner cyclones to extract more microscopic particles:
Outer Cyclone: dirty air is spun around a vertical axis generating centrifugal forces and flinging larger debris into the bin.
Shroud: redesigned to trap more large debris and improve inner cyclone efficiency.
Inner Cyclone: a symmetrical array of smaller cyclones generating powerful centrifugal force, extracting microscopic particles.
Vortex Fingers: channelled through the centre of the assembly to the ball, maximising suction.

A ball is a very manoeuvrable shape. It can pivot 306 degree on the spot and rotate in any direction. So it needed a steering mechanism to stop it rolling free. Dyson Ball utilises an articulating chassis that moves in the direction of the user, so steering is smooth and controlled. It features a spring loaded cuff to act as a shock absorber, re-aligning the machine and keeping it on course. The motor was housed inside the ball to keep the centre of gravity low, making it easy to pull across all floor surfaces and around corners.
Dyson Ball Barrel vacuum cleaners feature floor tool innovations:
Triggerhead: the only turbine head controlled at the handle. The turbine head features an air switch which is activated by a change in air pressure. This switches the brush bar on and off. The pressure trigger is located on the handle. Pressing the trigger creates a drop in pressure activating the air switch.
Musclehead tool: this tool uses a surface recognition switch to sense floor surface. And adjusts accordingly. On hard floors the brushes stay in contact with the floor, on carpet they raise to expose a dual channel.
