Closely related to the stylish Takeri concept, Mazda’s new generation flagship All-New Mazda6 was redesigned from the ground-up featuring the ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ design language – which was inspired by the movements of animals in the wild and symbolises Mazda’s distinctive vitality and agility. With its signature wing grille, prominent fenders and low rear-leaning cabin, Mazda6 is one of the most stylish, technologically advanced and safest new cars in the competitive medium segment. With pronounced sheet metal strokes, Mazda6 evokes a controlled intensity seemingly moving yet standing still and delivers Mazda’s Jinba Ittai one-with-the-car feeling.

Since the launch of the Zoom-Zoom brand message, Mazda has pursued the concept of more athletic and sporty motion. In our work to further evolve the expression of motion, Mazda Design has focused on the strength, beauty and tension found in the instantaneous movement seen in animals. This delivers a car that stirs emotions, makes you want to drive it just by looking at it and makes it look like it’s moving though standing still. Beautiful to look at and offering a stunning driving experience, we have named this design theme ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’.
The re-design of the All-New Mazda6 cockpit focuses on two main interior lines which flow across the dash and instrument panel through the door trim imparting stability and reliability. The stylish interior reflects the Mazda6’s sophisticated, harmonious essence. The driver-oriented cockpit is ergonomically superior to any of the previous Mazda6 generations. Including a technologically advanced Human Machine Interface, a perfect line of sight, with a clean, consistent look and a layout that is simple, easy to navigate and stylish, it makes the experience of driving more comfortable and enjoyable than ever before. In short the interior design is simply stunning.
A re-designed cockpit offers a driver more comfort than ever before. With the longest wheelbase in its segment (2,830mm) the Mazda6 is spacious and more comfortable than any of its previous incarnations. With repositioned A-pillars and side mirrors the driver’s horizontal and vertical viewing angles are better than ever before. Newly designed lightweight contoured seats deliver a sporty wrap-around feel offering outstanding support and remarkable long-distance comfort. Seated perfectly, driving the Mazda6 is made even more luxurious with the addition of an ergonomic HMI (Human Machine Interface), helping turn the car into an extension of the driver.
