Description
The Peugeot 3008 is a compact, spacious and responsible SUV. It represents a new, sophisticated and innovative offer, not only in the Peugeot range but also in today's SUV market as a whole.
The strengths of the 3008 are derived from a blend of motoring concepts whilst at the same time adopting a number of new and original technologies such as Dynamic Roll Control and Grip Control, enabling it to combine specifications usually deemed incompatible in an SUV.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
The architecture of the 3008 successfully combines a single-compartment body shape with a forward-positioned front windscreen and elements borrowed from the world of the SUV, such as the lower tailgate, the plunging side windows and a raised driving position. The vehicle's style achieves a harmonious fusion of different genres.
The aim was to firstly to create a spacious vehicle offering an original and dynamic solution ensuring maximum versatility.
It was decided it would also offer a unique blend of driveability, safety, potential for adventure and leisure pursuits, whilst at the same time showing respect for the environment.

Consisting of an advanced traction control system coupled with Mud & Snow tyres, it optimises the traction of both front wheels for real off-road driving. The driver controls by means of a knob : Standard, Snow, Off Road, Sand and ESP off.
The higher the performance, the greater the inertia and the more the body becomes subject to additional torque and power. These forces can give rise to excessive roll on cars with a high centre of gravity. On the highest performance engines the DRC system was developed in collaboration with KYB Suspensions to combat this.

At the earliest stage of the 3008 project, the search for optimal environmental efficiency was a priority. Particular attention was paid to the aerodynamics (Cx of only 0.296) and weight optimisation.
At the heart of the eco-efficiency, its range of power trains feature advanced technologies, both for petrol (with the 1.6 litre engines developed in cooperation with the BMW Group) and diesel versions (1.6 and new 2.0 litre HDi fitted with a diesel particulate emission filter). Fuel consumption on the most eco-friendly version is therefore reduced to only 4.9 litres/100 km (combined cycle) and 130 g/km of CO2.

Perceived quality and driveability were made a priority during the design, development and manufacture of the 3008. A major 3,000,000 kilometre on-road test program was under way to gather information which helped to optimise the vehicle's quality at the time of its launch. Similarly, the number of quality control checks has been increased at each stage of production as a result of modernisation of the production line at the Sochaux manufacturing plant.
This constant drive for higher quality at all levels also had a positive effect on the durability, reliability and running costs of the 3008.

Essential driving information is projected from the rear of the instrument panel onto an anti-reflective translucent polycarbonate panel. The driver can access information about speed, cruise control/speed limiter and the Distance Alert, without having to take his/her eyes off the road.
Distance Alert supplements the cruise control/speed limiter. This helps the driver maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front, according to a particular speed and alerts the driver when less than 2 seconds distance between them and the vehicle in front. The sensor detects and measures in real time, distance separating the vehicle from vehicle(s) in front.
