Description
The Skyline fluid head is a technical device that enables the user to operate large motion cameras with precise, ultra smooth pan/tilt movements for broadcasting quality.
The Skyline fluid head is designed to accommodate large range's of cameras and lenses typically used for Outside Broadcasting, Film Studio environments.
The fluidity of the pan/tilt motion is achieved with the use of viscous clutch modules. A system of torsion springs are incorporated to safely counterbalance the camera mass and therefore reduce the operator's effort to maintain the shot.
Precision system controls enables the user to adjust equipment suitably for their shooting demands.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
The user is able to fine tune the balance of the payload using the sliding platform assembly, having a slide range of 120mm. Owing to the shape and weight of some equipment it is difficult to estimate the optimum point of attachment. This feature is particularly helpful in cases where equipment is removed or added between set-ups.
LED backlighting can be turned on in low light conditions to display the current settings for pan/tilt fluid drag, counterbalance and bubble level. The LED's will automatically extinguish in 10 seconds after being turned on.
The layout, ergonomics and function of the control selectors greatly assist the user by providing a direct line of sight to the selectors for a quick and precise set-up when required. This level of functionality and styling is unique to the Skyline fluid head.
The fluid drag system are designed to provide soft / smooth take offs and stops, well balanced diagonal drag transition and repeatable performance. The pan/tilt fluid drag settings are independent and can be chosen via the respective selector on the control panel. In particular, the performance of the viscous clutch modules remain stable through out a wide range of temperatures and extended operating use.
The Skyline fluid head is finished with high quality powder coated paint, wear resistant pad printed inks and chemically sealed metal surfaces for excellent durability. The in-house CAD design, CAM manufacturing, assembly and quality control at Miller Camera Support, guarantees the user a long product lifecycle, low maintenance and a global service network.
Externally the Skyline fluid head has a stylish form and a symmetrical visual balance of the components and controls. There is a visual logic to the layout of controls whilst maintaining utmost functionality.
The black ripple paint finish looks good and resists scuff marks and finger prints. The reason most camera equipment is black in colour is to minimise any undue light reflections on set and into the camera.
