Description
The M18 mini trampoline is a novel ‘crossover’ product that has uses right across the market. It is the first product of its kind in a new category. It can either be a trampoline for: • Indoor/outdoor play for children up to 40kg • By adults as a unique exercise/fitness rebounder • As an unstable surface sought out by physiotherapists for the treatment of patients • As an unstable surface sought out by professional athletics trainers.
Key Features
and/or Benefits
Trampolines traditionally employ a rigid steel perimeter frame and utilise steel coil springs to connect the frame to the rebounding surface. The M18 features a breakthrough design using cantilevered flat bars. This removes the requirement for a steel perimeter frame and replaces it with a flexible surface. The end result is a softer, safer edge system that will reduce impact injury. This is especially relevant when you consider “trampolines rank as the second biggest cause of hospital-treated injuries on play equipment, just behind monkey bars” with more than 7800 such injuries reported from 2002-2007 in Victoria alone (Choice report: 12.12.12).
Because traditional trampoline designs use a frame and springs in the same plane as the jumping surface, they require lateral space. This means that the springs and frame add significant additional space around the jumping surface. The M18 mini trampoline design lowers the spring elements below the jumping surface and turns the entire mat area into usable jumping surface.
The M18 has been designed to be used as a fitness surface for adults or, with the addition of a snap-on enclosure, it can be turned into a small indoor trampoline for children weighing up to 40kg. The M18’s two-in-one nature provides a financial saving when you consider purchases of separate equipment for parent fitness and also children’s play. In modern homes, where space is often at a premium, you don’t need a large backyard to house it (as is the case with other trampolines) and the indoor nature of the M18 makes it the perfect all-weather play equipment option.
While there have been rebounder products in the market for many years, the M18 mini trampoline has been designed and sized specifically to create a new class of product, as described above in Key Feature No. 3. Because of its ‘Mama Bear’ size (‘not too big, not too small’), it is also proving popular with physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists where its size and soft edge technology deliver a unique strengthening surface for patients.
